![]() | In China, every time when it is the peak season of travel, most tourist sites and hotels will raise their tickets and service prices! Do you think it is reasonable? I personally think that it is unresonable! The price should be kept the same, rather than lower for low season and higher for high season. What's your idea? : ) |

![]() | Come on, it's market economy! |

![]() | As a Chinese saying goes '水涨船高' (Shui Zhang Chuan Gao), which means when the water rises, the boats are higher. It's a tendency of market economy. |

![]() | I find the changing in tickets quite reasonable. |

![]() | Yes, this is the way a market driven economy works. When I travel to China I try to avoid the peak periods and the major holidays, when everyone is traveling and all the hotels are quite full !! Guangzhou is a very good example in April, and also part of October to the same extent. The Canton Trade Fair, draws so many people from all over the world !! My typical US $35.00 per night room at a 3-Star hotle, is close to $100.00 at this time of year. |

![]() | Yes, that's true. what we can do is reduce the floats of travelers in peak time, IF so the charges for the tourism at this time will be reduced as well. |

![]() | Yes, China's economy is truly market-based. As China unifies more and more with the global economy prices should continue to rise. What surprises me is the claims of communism (too long to discuss here) would not permit such a free-market, shifting economy to monopolize other's profit. But, being far from a perfect world in which we live in, I still love having the option of a meal for less than 5 RMB. Also, the further a person gets away from the big cities, the less expensive lodging becomes. Rising prices will continue to happen, especially since more and more people are buying cars and able to travel. ![]() |

![]() | Well, it is really not good for the travellers. I heard a lot of Chinese and foreigners to complain about it. BUT it is good for the companies. AND it is not only in China. It is, probably, everywhere. |

![]() | A sort of. |

![]() | Yes, but the people are not water. We can control the things better and by our free will, in common. If I am an owner of a hotel, I will NOT rise the price and then I will be really successful, because the most of the people are NORMAL and they will choose my cheap servise and they will safe at least 50% of their money. This is a good MARKET economy. |

![]() | "When I travel to China I try to avoid the peak periods and the major holidays, when everyone is traveling and all the hotels are quite full !!" YES, SURE! THAT IS WHAT I MEAN - the NORMAL people AVOID the expensive and PREFER the cheap. If somebody provide cheap services in the peak periods he/she will be really successful. It is better to sell 100 things x 10 RMB, than to sell 2 things x 50 RMB. |
