Dec. 1, 1948, the People's Bank of China was established in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. The first edtion RMB was issued at this special day.

The quality of the first edition was not so good and the value was too big to use. So the second edition was issued at Mar. 1, 1955.

The third edition was issued on Apr. 20, 1962. I had seen and use this edition before, and I think it's very pretty.

We still can see this edition now. It's pulished on Apr. 27, 1987.

This edition was issued on Oct. 1, 1999 and we are still using it now.

OK, Ellen, why not!

I tried to copy pics of the Australian notes into here, but I wasn't easily able to, so I will just give the URL to view them. The very distinctive thing about Aussie notes are that they are made of plastic...and I have never heard of a forgery, we certainly don't check for them. We also have a lot more coins than China.
