Trying to go from Suzhou to Chengdu

Hi All!
My mother is visiting China, and I want to go from Suzhou to Chengdu. We don't have much time, so we want to fly. Does anyone know the best way to do this? I ask because my research shows that the airport in Suzhou may or may not exist, and if it doesn't, what is the best way to get to a close airport that has flights to Chengdu? Should we go to Wuxi? Shanghai? To get there, should we take a bus, train or taxi? How long would those things take?

Wuxi is nearer to Suzhou than Shanghai. It takes only half an hour either by bus or by train to Wuxi train station. But it may take you another hour to get to the airport. The plane will need 2.5 hours to get to Chengdu.

I recommend Shanghai cos you may find discount air ticket in Shanghai.

Is there anyway to fly straight from Suzhou to Chengdu? Does the airport exist, or is it mere rumor?
If not, I'll got to Shanghai.

I didn't find any flights from Suzhou to Chengdu on internet. Sorry. Maybe you can ask the local agent or your hotel for help?
