| Ningbo -- Shanghai is about 2.5 hours by bus, and a little bit more by D train roughly 3-3.5 hours. Thus bus is faster. Shanghai -- Ningbo bus costs 99 RMB each way. Flight price will vary according to amount of discount available; I would expect it to be not much faster than bus considering the travel time to/from airports and also check-in and security time. No problem helping you arrange for the transfer. Please email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line so that I know who you are. If you're trying to go to Hangzhou from Shanghai by bus, this route will NOT use the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. Unless you mean to say you want to do Shanghai -- Ningbo -- Hangzhou? I recommend taking Shanghai -- Ningbo bus from Shanghai South long-distance bus station. Journey time and fare already mentioned a few lines above. Unfortunately there're no direct buses from Ningbo to Hangzhou airport -- you could either a) go to Shaoxing to take a Shaoxing -- Hangzhou airport bus, or b) take a train/long-distance bus Ningbo -- Hangzhou then an airport shuttle to Hangzhou airport. If anyone has any more queries please email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line so that I know who you are. |

| "Best" is subjective. Are you meaning the fastest direct method, other than hiring a driver and vehicle? That might be long-distance bus, in that case. Buses leave from Suzhou North long-distance bus station at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1030, 1130, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1720 and 1820, fare 115 RMB. If you go by train, there're 2 choices daily. The better one is D5589 (1408--1846) taking 4h38min. |
