| GUESTTRADER | Hi all needed some help and advice. Is there anyone of you from Singapore and married in China with a Chinese local?. Me and my fiancee is going to register for marriage in this coming Sept in Chengdu. I gathered that for a foreigner to marry a Chinese local I need to produce some kind of certificate to prove that I'm eligible to marry (ie unmarried) may I know if I can obtain this from China embassy in Singapore directly? Or do I need to get from certain authority and then have it authenticated by the embassy before I can use it in China. Your kind help is very much appreciated. :) |

| GUESTKEVIN | GUESTTRADER, You should get the single status certificate from the Register of Marriage in Singapore first. Then get it authenticated from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. Then bring it to the Chinese embassy in Singapore and make it attested. |

| GUEST21363 | A lot of varied responses here. I met a beautiful Chinese lady two months ago. She was in the US on a Visa for her daughters wedding. She has been divorced for fifteen years and I have been widowed for five years. We are almost the same age and we were inseparable after we met. She went home to China two weeks ago but now we both miss each other terribly. She wants to come back and marry me but I'm not sure what she will need. She already has a visa that will be good for one year. Since her daughter is married to a US citizen and her daughter has already become a citizen it is my understanding that she can apply after 3 years without even getting married.
