I think it's quite hard for May to sum up every hobbies. So why not write your hobbies down in English and let May and other Chinese members to help you to translate it into Chinese? The frequently used sentence pattern must be 我喜欢(Wo 3 Xi 3 Huan 1), which means I like... For example, 我喜欢读书(Wo 3 Xi 3 Huan 1 Du 2 Shu 1) = I like reading. What's your hobbies??

Thanks BBQQ for your good idea. And Rick, 我喜欢看书 is just the translation of I like to read. 读书 and 看书 are both ok, though 读 is quite formal. 我喜欢电视 is understandable. But it's better to say 我喜欢看电视(Wo 3 Xi 3 Huan 1 Kan 4 Dian 4 Shi 4). 看 here means Watch.

maybe i can try to dig some difference between 读书 and 看书, it's like this: 读书 means reading a book with your heart in it, means try to learn something from that book. 看书 means just go through that book, mabe a novel, a magazine. but usually we can use one to replace the other, that is ok. just try to feel the tiny differences, you will love it in your learning ,i guess.

I would suggest that these days we don't usually use the word 'hobbies'. It brings up ideas of train spotting and stamp collecting...definitely not 'cool' things these days! Instead we often talk about 'interests' or 'social activities'. However this could vary between the different countries speaking English - there might be other words, or some might still say hobbies
