Many Chinese people thhink that dumpling is the most symbolic food of China because it resembles reunion and harmoniousness.

How about your opinons if you have tasted Chinese food??

When I was living in America, my mother would often take us out to eat at Chinese-American restaurants. This was my favorite cuisine during my childhood. We would always order a side dish of fried rice as well as sweet and sour pork ribs for hor- d'oerves. I also liked beef with snow pea-pods and Kung Pao chicken.
But to answer you question Evening, the food here is too diverse to 'put a tag' on only one. If I had to, I would say fried rice, because everywhere I've gone in China, I see rice paddy's and street vendors cooking fried rice in woks. I like fried rice, but not to too much MSG.

Roger,
One that is pan-fried after boiling, Oh, I cannot think out what it is in Chinese. Can you give us the Pinyin of this food? Is it Shui 2 Jian 1 Bao 1?

Northern Chinese like noodles while Southern Chinese like rice. It is hard to find a kind of symbolic food of China. However, it is easy to find the typical dishes or food in some places.
