GUESTDRESDEN	Top 3. The European Union (EU): Since the foundation of the Coal and Steel community after WW2, Europe has been gradually becoming unified. With a common currency, passports and borderless transportation Europe has been socially connected. It is common for one European nation to borrow military equipment from another, thus making war among EU nations materially impossible. A constitution is coming in 2009, which will most likely mark the beggining of a single Europe. This having been said, the EU is an economic giant. With Germany having the 3rd largest economy, Great Britain the 5th, France the 6th and Italy the 7th - not even the USA can economically compete with the EU. With 4 confirmed Great Powers and 13 middle powers, a united Europe would surpass America in every political matter - making it a superpower. Commonly called the "United States of Europe" or the "European Superstate" Europe is armed with nuclear weapons and is forming a common military called the European Rapid Reaction Force or simply EUROFOR. With the third biggest population in the world and a political grip on non-European nations, which political thinkers like Mark Leonard call the Eurosphere, Europe deserve the top spot. The United States of America: Regardless of the hate the war in Iraq and Bush Administration have stirred up, America continues to be a superpower and bleaming example of representative democracy at its best. With strong commercial power, it has driven to build an amazingly successful economy. With a high literacy rate and many of the worlds best universities, the USA continues to lead the world into new scientific eras. Though the dollar is declining and the economy inter dependant, America is pushing through its hard times with its historical "America Dream" attitude. With the most technologically advanced and organized military, America has little competition. China: Quickly rising as an economic giant, China has made a name for itself. Using communism as a way to recover from WW2, China has managed to build of one the world's best militaries. With it's incredibly large population and vast country, it has become a cultural highlight for East Asian nations. Debatably a superpower, China deserves this spot.
