GUEST67232 Audrey Hepburn is MY personal style icon, so whoever said that "no one wants to copy her style" is a complete clueless idiot. And yeah, there are VERy many actresses and celebrities who wish to look like her. I think she was lovely and elegant, all that is graceful and feminine, she was versatile, she was beautiful, she was kind and graceful. Her youth was traumatic as well and she was a wonderful actress, It wasn't easy for her, making it in Hollywood, because people like Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn (they were pretty too, don't get me wrong!) were more popular and considered "more beautiful". She was just not what anyone wanted to see, but she still captivated audiences and managed to create a VERY unique style of her own, especially with Breakfast at Tiffany's.

I think most women will say Audrey Hepburn was the more "beautiful", but marilyn is obviously the "hotter" choice for men. Still, if I were to choose which one I looked like, I would not hesitate to pick Audrey. She is my idol in every way!

GUEST30142 Well, I am a teenage girl. So from my perspective. Yes, Audrey Hepburn isn't well known and yes Marilyn Monroe is better known. Buy t i can't say anything about Marilyn Monroe's acting since i haven't seen any of her movies. But i have to admit i look at Audrey Hepburn as a one of my Heroes because she did have grace, she was classy and she helped out with UNICEF. Yes, Audrey had a small figure and such but do you know she had malnutrition and only persuaded acting to get money well i believe, wikipedia isn't that reliable. At first she wanted to become a ballerina, but because she couldn't pay for classes or because how skinny she was, she didn't.Her father left her and her family. But anyways back to the point, the first movie i saw of Audrey was Breakfast at Tiffany's. When i saw that, i immediately fell in love with pearls, and wanted to go out and buy a cute little black dress. But anyways Marilyn Monroe us famous for her pictures and the skirt flying up and her holding it down. Marilyn Monoroe had that view like "who cares what people think, you can't be always mannered or you wont be known, there's a balance between being innocent and being the "devil" ". In my opinion Audrey seems to help me want to become a classy, sophisticated, well mannered lady. Because Monore did have a not so good history and maybe since couldnt get out of the "stupid blonde" movies she played, because she had a tramuatized history. They are both good role models to young ladies and little girls, but a little bit from each such as, Audrey Hepburn to be well mannered and classy, then from Marilyn Monroe a little bit free and not care what people think.

My favorite Audrey Hepburn Quotes:

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that loving is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

"I believe in pink. I believe laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing; kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles."

GUEST57643 I pick Audrey by far... her style, grace, elegance. People still want to look like Audrey Hepburn. She was beautiful inside and out.

Both had bad childhoods. Hepburn's dad left when she was young and she dealt with problems during WWII, and hence why she developed malnutrition and was always so skinny.

Monroe had a broken family as well. She never knew who her father was, and the man that is said to have been her father she denied it. Monroe had to live in several fosters homes because her mom was in a psychiatric ward. She got married in her teens so that she didn't have to go through more foster care - which her aunt encouraged I do believe. Her marriage to Joe DiMaggo seemed to be the only true good one. Joe claimed her body when found dead and sent flowers to her burial site several years after her death. The other ex husbands had no part. She also had several affairs... with Frank Sinatra and the Kennedy's being only a few. She was dependent on drugs, which ultimately caused her death. People say it was a suicide because that was determined by probable cause, though if you really read up on it (search Monroe's death on google) you'll find it could have been an accident by her psychiatrist by prescribing drugs that interacted with each other or it was a murder. However, no one will ever truly know.
She also suffered from borderline personality disorder, which is why she had a psychiatrist, several affairs, and many mood swings.

Monroe had a very tragic life in general. One bad thing led to another - she never really seemed to make progress due to (probably) her psychological state. Personally, I think she delivers a lot of sex appeal as an icon to Hollywood, but that is was society created of her -- she's not a real role model.

Audrey had class - despite her rough times in life she over came them. She didn't let tragedy and tough times drag her down. Then got involved in UNICEF to help the world's children in need. She grew old and wise and became an inspiration both in and out. And because of that, she is truly someone to admire and look up to.
Plus, whenever I read a quote by Audrey Hepburn I always feel like I can truly relate to her.

GUESTRONALD Audrey Hepburn. She is able to achive both box office success and critical acknowledgment. She is versatile, too! Her life has also shown meaning and purpose beyond the silver screen. On screena nd off, Audrey is a class way above suicidal, unwitting blondes out there.

GUEST29172 Marilyn Monroe is my idol. To the dumbass who said that in ten years Monroe would have became a crackwhore, who the hell are you to say what would have become of her in ten years? No one has any idea what her life was like except her. If your entire childhood was spent in ten different foster homes, who's to say that you would be half the person she was? She followed her heart. She was charming. She was gorgeous. She had an innocent appeal about her. She spoke the truth and not just what people wanted to hear. To the person who said she always said, "oooh look at me!" You are a dumbass too. She NEVER bragged about how unbelievably beautiful she was. One of her quotes says, "No one ever told me I was pretty as a little girl. All little girls should be told they are pretty, even if they are not." You're stupid if you think she was out there for attention. She said that she was tired of playing a sex symbol, she was tired of being referred to as the girl with the curves, she was tired of being stared at like a crazy fantasy everywhere she went, and she also said that dreaming of being an actress is much more fun than being one. If you are going to criticize someone, know what the hell you're talking about. Oh and to the one who said Audrey is way above suicidal, unwitting blondes, no one has even proved it was suicide.

I love Audrey too, but my personal choice is Marilyn.
