GUEST7788 In overseas Chinese communities such as in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the bridegroom normally gifts the bride's family with cash, the amount reflects the guy's affection for the girl. This cash amount given to the girl's parents could range from USD5,000 to USD20,000 in addition to paying for wedding expenses that could costs from USD3,000 - USD50,000 depending on how wealthy the bridegroom family is.

Paying RMB20K is nominal, not that much.

USD5000 to USD20,000. Jesus Christ! It is too much. I feel very lucky that I am born in China.

Only the rich ones, Jimmy. The poor ones only provide less than the minimum mentioned and have wedding dinner at a small restaurant. Not every guest gives the red packet as in China. In some remote villages in Kelantan and Terengganu, the Chinese (mostly Hokkien speakers) blend with the local culture and custom. They will have their wedding feasts near their houses. Interesting part is the cooking is helped by the local society, and I think it is merrier than having in posh hotels.

You are totally wrong! There is a bridal shortage in China. The high sex ratio of men creates a demand for women. This romantic recession makes the women even if they are treated like commodities as you think will increase in value like price of light crude oil this summer. Remember, not only does China have a shortage of women, you get men from Taiwan and Hong Kong coming to take from their already short supply and offer the villagers a bailout in exchange for the "stimulus package" that these men get. You can be a socially clumsy guy in Mainland China, and if your income is large enough, your big portfolio will make you too big to fail romantically. The poor Chinese men hate their women being taken away this way, and when Japanese men come and do this, they have another reason to hate them too.

GUESTABUPPYL... OMFG!!

2 days ago I got a answering message from 972-284-0600 - 9722840600 and I thought the caller was a scammer.

So I called to complain to the Gulf Coast Western and yell.

Check this out... Gulf Coast Western -- the oil drilling company- contacted me to approve my job application - apparently I got the job!

Any advice how to get unfired??
