Here in Europe (Holland) we have a passport with a chip in it!
They also take your fingerprints when applying for the passport. These fingerprints are on the chip.

How deeply do the Chinese autorities check? Will they read the chip on international airports? Or will they check this applying the visum on the embassy?

Thanks in advance

Understanding that but.....i'm not suffering from paranoia.....i just want a relexed trip to China, i do'nt want any trouble on international airports in front of my wife because i did something stupid 22 years ago (shoplifting), Seems nothing in the "real world" but here in Holland it's recorded (and that is the question) for 30 years! So now, filling in the visa form i do'nt know how to handle: YES or NO. I know most of the advices point on NO but it is contrary to my feelings.....and i do'nt know if the chip in my passport (with fingerprints) shows who I am and what I did. I just do'nt want to take any risk.

So if anyone out there know the liberating answer.....

GUEST22639 If you put yes like I did the first two times. Go through a expiditer and have them professionally present it with a short and direct letter of regret for making such decisions at a young age and include aspects of how you've progressed and succeeded in life since. Let it be felt through the letter. I had 3 felonies to disclose, 2 trafficking drug charges and 1 counterfeiting charge. Express that they were non-violent in nature. I'm sure you should be ok if you decide to take care in writing this.

Did you get a visa with the record you state in this forum?
How old were the offences?
I live in oz and have just applied ticking no and have a conviction for possession of unlawfully obtained goods (cash) and a charge of cultivation with intent to sell and supply. Both charges are from the same event charged 19 months ago and convicted 12 months ago,i recieved a fine for both events.

Got the Visa twice with all 3 records disclosed. I may have written "drug transfer" instead of trafficking to soften the sound of it. My offences were 13 years, 7 years, and 4 years on the first app. On the second application add 1 more year of age to each one of those.

If so, then I certainly allocated my visa with a conviction for shop lifting 22 years ago.
I would like to say yes on the form! What do you people think?

GUEST22639 Note: that I went through and paid a professional courrier. He said I should tell the truth and he has never seen anyone refused because of a criminal record.
