To your question;

It was TR, and he said, "Let us speak courteously, deal fairly, and keep ourselves
armed and ready."

Quote, (As to troubadours with a political opinion such as John Lennon,
I think they should stick to entertaining put or us their money were their mouths
are and not into tax havens. So to me they have little credibility.)

I share it with you.

Quote, on your comment to Erencius about the last four hundred years of
invaders into China etc, perhaps the problem started with China? It was not
sovereign nation much like Germany and Italy in the mid eighteen hundreds.
The process of gaining access into ports was expedited by Chinese merchants
and corrupt officials.
We may be reading history from different books however Dodger,

My quote to Erencius, History is my best support, what was china able to
do on the last 400 years but survive? With every country on earth plotting
how to conquer her and take its treasures.
Chinas successes come from the strength of its military with in the last 70,
80 years.

Corrupt or not the Chinese officers, the vision of the old powers was to
take, it was a common practice of the times.
Have China been a solid and equal military power then as it is now,
history then will have a different chapter.

"Chinas successes come from the strength of its military with in the last 70, 80 years".

Definitly not can you tell me about any single war won against a western nation? The last one is the war between French and Chinese in 1881 until 1885 and China was defeated. China 's success is absolutly not linked to military power but to the worldwide movement of decolonization that occured since the 1940s even earlier for some nations... Noone cared about conquering the Chinese land for the little interest it has, since there is no more need for the silkroad from the begining of the twentith century: we can transfer goods from ports and silk is also being produce elsewhere Earth...
The only acquisition you made from a strong military power during the communist era is Tibet (illegally), and the constant but useless war against Taiwan (to build one unique China). What a success. We can talk about China selling weapons in Africa to help people killing each other against oil. What an achievement. Weapons may have a role to preserve peace but each time China uses to frighten its neighboors (espacially Japan) nothing else...

"Corrupt or not the Chinese officers, the vision of the old powers was to take, it was a common practice of the times."
It is still true today, if not the OECD wont spend entire chapters to it in each of her annual report about China.

Mr Erencius,

I see no facts and number behind your words as I presented you
previously,
maybe you do not have any factual number available?
I take you back to the question, (China, India, Who Will ...)

JC,
You must be a Party Member as you view is far too dogmatic and narrow.
Think beyond the square and embrace a global future.
It is impossible to run a set of statistics and numbers over history and then judge.
We cannot judge a man and his actions by a time that is not his.
What I failed to mention was my abhorrence that a Country like India with it’s populations of beggars and starving people who live in abject poverty, have a Government that spends millions on nuclear warships and weapons.
There must be a better balance than that Comrade.

Dodger,
Now I state my political position for the record.
I am a center-right conservative, with open mind; I have a deep appreciation
of all-intelligent, educate and knowledgeable political opinions across the board,
and not only the democratic ideals.
I like to call it as I see it, rather than allow others to call it for me; perhaps that is
the monumental difference and understanding of what You and I can see as we
look at the same picture,
If to your opinion that is been dogmatic, subsequently I am.
If you call me Comrade because of the Cuban communist losers, you are wrong;
I am not one of them.
If you do so because of the crazy Chavez in Venezuela, or the joker in Bolivia or
Nicaragua, I am not.
If it is because of the Chinese political spectrum of today days.
I admire the political changes of the communist China of today, hoping they can
achieve a prosperous and peaceful China tomorrow.
If you do too, I am your Comrade.
I see some mockery on your words, but I take them as a compliment.

JC,
I meant no mockery to your words but perhaps some playful fun.
If I have offended you then please except my apology.
I am not sure where I stand in the political spectrum.
Perhaps to the left of Genghis Khan?
But I do think that the Democratic ideal is the best way forward.
I have reservations about universal suffrage though.
We all have to call it as we see it with the information that we are given bur perhaps are influenced by our upbringings in ways that we are not aware of?
I was brought up as an orphan. Did this scar me for life about government interference? I would have to go to therapy to find the answer.
I make no reference to South America as I am not from that continent.
But while on that point it is interesting to compare both the south and the north’s achievements in economic and political stability. As both have been given equal amounts of natural resources. South America’s resources have been squandered by corruption, not pillage from others.
I too admire the way that China has able to move ahead and now takes its place in the World.
It will move from strength to strength.
But I do hope that it (the government) will be a servant of the people rather than their Master.
They deserve a better fate…all people do.
I sincerely hope that we can become Comrades together to speak out against injustice as we see it in this world.
It is as they say “it’s a small world after all”
Dodger.
