Hi Sunnydream,

Yeah, you probed into the depth of the Korean War. From the point of view of national identity, the Korean Peninsula was split after the Korean War. Well, in terms of international politics, the guest is right. Anyway, the Korean War has been a past tense. The present issue is that Six-party Talks have actually achieved few fruitful results. The dream to realize the demilitarization of Korean Peninsula and a nuclear-free zone is seemingly diminishing.

Will the Six Party Talks achieve any progress? I am doubtful. The hostility between the DPRK and USA is not an easy task to handle. It is impossible that USA will give much concession to offer more loans to DPRK.By the way, US has ever labelled DPRK as a "rogue state".

do you all realise that the war in Korea is the reason why Japan became the giant of the manufacturing world that she was.

so please consider this - many people suffered many brave persons died - and many continue to suffer

BUT some people made heaps of money on the war in Korea - the same old story - will we never learn

big bucks for big boys toys but very little dough for bread.

Merry Christmas

regards peter

Yes, Japan benifited a lot from the Korean War. Japan manufactured amunition for American troops. Korean War revived Japanese economy.

GUEST365 The Korean war is civil war between two brothers ( North & South). It was none of others' business. Why would the Soviet Union and US interfere in the war? They were bossy and deemed themselves as "big brothers".

Good question, my knowledge would be only from a Western perspective. There aren't too many documentaries pertaining to the Korean War (to my knowledge), most are relating to WW11 and the Viet Nam conflict.

gary, i don't believe you know a lot on Sino-Vietnam War in 1979. lots of chinese were killed who lived in Vietnam or exiled out of vietnam. and lots of movies shot on this war. at that time, Vietnamese called themselves number 3 military superpower and went over the border on sino side committing outrages...we called it self-defence war.
