Im in similar situation, i need a police clearance for visa requirements. Me and my cousin have been trying to fix this problem for a month now. She went to the police station but the police said i have no residence record. She secured my certificate of employment from the school and went to the Notary Office but they can only issue the certificate of no criminal conviction/police clearance if i have a letter with seal from the police. This is becoming stressful. I'm thinking about hiring a lawyer if after two months we dont get the police clearance. Please drop a message if you have the same issue. Thanks.

If you had work in a school, you should hold a work visa to enter China and applied residence permit within 30 days after entry, why don't you have no residence record in the police?

In fact, the rule varies from place to place in China, I had worked in Chongqing for two years and worked in Suzhou for 1 year, it was easy for me to get a Police Clearance from Suzhou Police Station, but it was very complex and hard to get it from Chongqing, I tried for many times, at last, I gived up.

You'd better find a laywer to help you.

hi guys, i have a good news and bad news. My cousin was able to secure the police clearance from local PSB yipeey!after several attempts. The sad news is when she went to the Notary Office, the guy from the notary office wants to see my current passport(original). My cousin tried to explain that i cant just ship my passport cause i need it when i travel. But the guy insist that they cannot process unless i give my original new passport.Im hesitant to ship my original passport as it might get lost during transit so now im planning to fly to china very soon. I hope when i get there, they wont ask for other requirements because this trip is not at all simple. It will be expensive and very inconvenient. Keeping my fingers crossed.

i have to say you have to have infinite patience. I really thought im not gonna able to get it but thanks God. Do you still have friends in China? it works best if you have a friend there who knows someone from the police station. My cousin was hopeless already until a parent...who happens to be a police offered a help.

GUEST43243 I have to do this also and I went down to the Entry & Exit Immigration office at 155 Jie Fang Road south....but was then told to go to a Notary office...hopped back in the car and went to this notary office and was then given an other location to go to!

I arrived at this third building...(All I could see is a "South Tower" on the entrance) and was escorted to the 12th floor where I found several ladies in an office with several cubicals. I was told that they could do this service for me. It was a notary office. This building is in the Hai Zhou area.

I gave them a copy of my passport ID page, my Chinese Visa page, a letter from my employer saying I have not criminal record at the place of employment and I also gave them the "Registration Form of Temporary Residence" which I had to do when I fist arrived into the country.

They told me it would take a MONTH to process and would cost 130 RMB.

Hope this helps!
