Frank, it’s unfair to lump all beautiful people in the same category with them. Some beautiful people actually have more common sense. LOL!

Er… JimmyB, if you are in China, I wouldn’t recommend that you search for them unless you are certain they won’t be able to trace you. Hmm… wait, they can still trace you. LOL! I don’t know how tough they are in censorship there or if they are really going to punish those people who are viewing or downloading the photos. Just be careful and don’t get into trouble now.

>>By the way, there is a first time for everything. He started it, there will be others coming after him.<<

Shesgottobe, you are quite right. Yesterday, it was reported that a man in Kong Hong imitated Edison' s conduct. He slept with a call-girl in an hotel and tried to film the affair or take some nude photos. He was reported by the hotel staff and arrested by the cop.

Celebs in our society do have a big impact on others especially on young people. Very often, they are viewed as role models. Some of them do set a good example for the rest of us, while quite a lot of them fail as role models. As Edison Chen claimed in his apology that he failed as a role model, he fail to behave himself properly as a public figure from whom youngsters in our society continue to seek inspiration. Finally, he admitted his fault and responsibility and made a public apology. The scandal has ruined his own career and that of other female celebs involved. He asked for forgiveness for his misconduct. Some people do suspect his sincerity in his apology. It is reported that his transcript of apology was written by his attorney. Franly speaking, it was well-written.

Certainly, it would be too demanding that public figures should not make any minor mistakes in their personal lives. That sounds cynical That is impossible and unrealistic because no one is infallible and we all human beings composed of flesh and blood. It would also be too demanding for the public to shut up the mouth to the scandal immediately since average persons look up to these celebs. IMO, what matters now is that the celebs in show-biz should learn a lesson from Edison Chen's Sex Photo Scandal. As public figures, they have to learn to how to behave appropriately!

The full text of Edison Chen's public apology:
(From another Chinese website).

(Trivia: Many so-called linguistic experts on the internet are having linguistic analysis of Chen's speech. Does it mean that it will be possible to compile Edison Chen's appology speech to the textbook for English learners in China. LOL! )

Today I've come back to Hong Kong to stand before you, and account for myself; I’ve never escaped away from my responsibility.

During the past few weeks,I've been with my mother, and my family, and love ones,to show support and care, and at the same time have their support and care for me.

I admit most of the photos being circulated on the Internet were taken by me, but these photos were very private, and have not been shown to people, and were never intended to be shown to anyone.
Their photos were stolen from me illegally, and distributed without my consent. There is no doubt whoever obtained these photos had been uploading them on the Internet with maliciousand deliberate intent.

This matter has intercalated to the extent that the society as a whole has been effected by this, and in this regard, I am deeply sad in it.

I would like now to apologize to all the people for all the suffering that has been caused and the problems that have arisen from this.

I would like to apologies to all the ladies and to all their families, for any harm or hurt that they've been feeling. I’m sorry. I would like to also apologies to my mother and my father, for the pain and suffering that I cost them during these past few weeks. Most importantly,I would like to say sorry to all the people in Hong Kong,I give my apology sincerely to you all,and reservedly it be,and with my heart.I know young people in Hong Kong look up to many figures in our society, and in this regard,I had failed,I had failed as a role model. However,I wish this matter would teach everyone a lesson,to all the young people in our community, let this be a lesson for you all, this is not an example to be set for you.
During my time away, I’ve made an important decision, I will wholeheartedly fulfill all commitments that I have to date, but after that, I’ve decided to step away from the Hong Kong entertainment industry, I’ve decided to do this to give myself an opportunity to heal myself and to search my soul.I will delicate my time to charity and community work within the next few months, I will be away from Hong Kong entertainment indefinitely, there is no time refrain.

I've be assisting to the police since the first day that the photos were published, and I will continue to assist them, after this press conf.,our obligations to help their investgation, and hope that this case can end soon,as everyone I think has the same wish.

Edison Chen is a dude. After the " Nude Photo Scandal", a lot of young people became disillusioned with their idols. The scandal testifies that entertainment business is far from a clean field. It is a corruptive industry. Money, sex and bribe have magic power in entertainment business. That is the new reality of HK entertainment business.

"Money, sex and bribe have magic power in entertainment business."

And in no other industry? And only in HK?

An ex student got his first job with a Hebei business. It was to get business associates drunk and to procure women for them. And it is well docukmented in Japan.

In Australia there is currently a sex scandal where a female government officer demanded sex favours in return for granting businesses building permission. In the USA there are many reports of sex scandals involving politicians who are strong on family morality and the church.

I saw a comment in a Chinese entertainment forum. An anonymous guest said: "the so-called celebs in show-biz are a bunch of hookers and pimps"

Sorry, I pressed the wrong key.
The comment sounds a little cynical but somehow, it reflects the reality of current entertainment business. Today's celebs in show-biz are no longer pure and ethical enough as before.
