![]() | Another two Chinese hurdlers Shi Dongpeng and Ji Wei entered to the next round. Sigh! I never thought that Liu Xiang would finish his 110 meters journey in this way. By the way, US's Trammell also withdraws due to the injury. Cuba's Robles entered the next round as No.13'39". It seems that Robles will claim the gold medal of Men's 110 meters hurdle. |

![]() | What a pity! I bet this piece of news has been he most gloomy news for China since the opening ceremony of the games so far. 1.3 billions Chinese expectation bursts into bubbles. |

![]() | Very sad ...I was truly looking forward to watching him. I have been following him for the last 2 years. of course very sad for the young man too. I don't know that the the government has been putting too much pressure on him: Australian TV reported that the authorities requested the media and public to lay off Liu and give him some space. |

![]() | I have just read that some ppl have attacked Liu for being a fake and a coward...what a miserable attitude. I am sure he would have wanted to compete, he is a world class athlete. Here is an Australian newspaper report, if anyone is interested in a foreign perspective (The SMH newspaper is highly regarded for its reporting, by the way). http://www.smh.com.au/ |

![]() | I watched the heat on TV. He must have known that he couldn’t run (without pain killers) I just hope that he hasn’t caused permanent injury to himself. Sadly the reaction is from people who have never attended a track and field event or even lined up to start a race of any kind in their lives. These hurdles are one meter in height. Try running over just one! But good on him for having a go. He gets my vote for having size ten gonads. Dodger. |

![]() | I felt sorry for the guy, so much was expected from him, at least he was prepared to have a go, he could have and probably should have pulled out without even trying. Alan |

![]() | Those who attacked Liu Xiang are "idiots". Do they know how much pressure Liu Xiang bears? Do they know how hard to defend the champion? Do they know how many times Liu Xiang got injured? Liu Xiang has done a good job. At least, he tried to compete though he failed. If he tried to escape, why did he attend in the 110-meter hurdles? He needn't warm up. Just announce he couldn't take part in the competition before the match. |

![]() | Just have a look at these photos. During the warm-up, he had felt the pain but he still tried to compete. ![]() |
