GUEST64227 | Guest 05728: "Just about 80% of Koreans have undergone plastic surgery."? Surely you made up the figure for yourself. Or like all others, you are so jealous of Korean girls. Go to Korea and live there for some time. Then you will rarely encounter your neighbourhood women having had surgery. I will explain why.
According to the 2011 ISAPS statistics (source: http://www.isaps.org/files/html-cont...0in%202011.pdf), the total plastic procedures in Korea (4.4%) was 649,938, ranked the 7th after US (21.1%), Brazil (9.8%), China (7.1%), Japan (6.5%), Mexico (5.4%), and Italy (4.8%). Do you know how many clients come from outside of Korea? The accepted figure is 30-40%, of which 90% are Chinese. (Source: "Plastic surgery boom as Asians seek ''western'' look - CNN.com") For the benefit of doubt, let''s take the conservative figure 30%. Then you will have 454,956 procedures for Koreans in 2011.
To see the frequency of procedures per person in Korea, divide 454,956 by Korea''s 2011 population, 49,779,440. You will have 9.1 procedure per 1,000 people. This is a figure for procedures not for the number of people. Since some people may have had more than one procedure, the actual number of people must be smaller. And remember, not all of them are women, although we may safely assume women constitute a majority. You will say that we need a cumulative figure, but then we should also put the figure against the cumulative base population. Next, people in entertainment industry may have a higher proportion of surgery than ordinary people, although we will never know the precise figure.
Count all these factors in, then the per capita figure of plastic surgery will be most certainly less than 5 out of 1,000 people. Imagine you are walking down the street in a random city in Korea, and passed by 100 people, then even one full person has not had plastic surgery.
Nowadays people know that whoever spread the hearsays about plastic surgery in Korea, such as ''60%'', ''80%'', ''nearly all'', ''most'',''like a daily shopping'' are doing so out of hatred, or even jealousy.
For the defence of the beauty of your own people, you don''t have to tell a lie. That looks really ugly. All you have to say is that some Koreans are beautiful, some are not. And just say ''we are also beautiful.'' Then all others will admire that, and rejoice with you. |
