Who is the most famous Chinese in US? The answer is funny. According to a survey "A Study of American Perceptions of China" conducted by PRI, 43 percent people think that Jackie Chan. Then Bruce Lee 40 percent support, Chairman Mao 39 percent, Confucius 33 percent, Jet Li 29 percent, Yao Ming 29 percent, Buddha 28 percent, Lucy Alexis Liu 23 percent, Genghis Khan 22 percent and Chow Yun-fat 16 percent.

Please take a look at this result carefully. There is only one woman Lucy Alexis Liu. Do you know who she is? If you watch "Ally McBeal" and Shanghai Noon (the leading role is Jackie Chan), you will know her. What I can’t understand is why she is regarded as one of Top ten most famous Chinese in US. Is she beautiful? Not very in my view. Compared with Ziyi Zhang, who do you think is beautiful?

She is Lucy Liu.

lol
Look at the list you provided above, almost none of them is famous for their beauty, so Lucy Liu doesn't need to be beautiful to be famous either, right? :-)

I agree with Rita. Look at the guys in the list, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Chairman Mao, Confucius, Jet Li, Yao Ming, Buddha, which one is famous for their attractive outer appearance? What I can't understand is why we still assess women based on the outer appearance instead of their wit, intelligence, temperament and ability.
