GUESTPOLOBEAR This question is a little off topic, but should the spouse of a work visa applicant also have a medical checkup? Assuming both of us need the residency permit we probably both need the medical certificate.

GUEST22463 Cannot believe how difficult it has been to sort this medical exam out. Firstly I have not had a single reply to any email to the embassy despite using their "contact us" link. Nor have I had any success getting them to answer the telephone. The Z Visa documentation in Aus states that a valid medical examination record is supplied Had to ring relative in China to find out how to access the form Then myself and spouse attended for an entire afternoon to have the form completed Given that I am still waiting for the embassy to let me know re my spouse figured safer to have it done than not. Off to lodge Visa applications 2 moro so will see how I go because there is conflicting advice about just where is authorized to perform them!

I think you need to take the physical examinations two times. Before you get your letter of admission, you school will ask you to take the first time Physical examination. When you arrive in China, you will do the second one when you apply for the resident permit.

GUEST53162 Hi,
I will like to put my experience in front of you.
I got an offer letter and with that, i was asked to get all the formalities done. All the documents were done on time with one major hiccup - Medical Certification.

1. I got myself checked from a registered govt doctor in #1 private medical hospital. - That did not worked.

2. I got myself checked from Arvind Hospital Government hospital after taking 3-4 days of tests etc. - When it came to the format attestation, at beginning all was said ok, later it was like - "we can issue only in our format and not in your format".

3. Then I went to leading central govt hospital like Ram Manhor Lohia Hospital. They said we do not issue this.

4. Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt Hosptial in Delhi mentoned there limit as well.

Trust me, i am in real soup now as my joining is 29th august and i dont know whom and how to approach!

All govt hosptials have long queues and to get yourself registered will take day and tests a week or 2, if any hospital is ready to do the test. Till now, no govt hosptial in delhi / ncr i have found to support china visa.

If any indian is here who is in China, can anyone guide on who in delhi ncr can help me!

i am dead tired and i think it is now looking difficult to move ahead:(

any help will be great.

Thanks

GUEST38223 Hi there
It seems different nationalites also have different requirements, so those of you who say a definite yes or no to any of this are incorrect. It also depends on your country. For me as a new Zealander I have to do physical examinations in both countries every time for my z visa and x visa. Its crazy. Next year unless I get confirmation from my University that I will be out within 5 months, I will need to get four physical exams. I leave in February to study for technically 6 months, and I will be returning to China 1 month later to teach in September. I'm trying to see if I can do the exam at the China end before I leave in July to cover my re-entry in September. It is a mess!

GUEST12555 Hi
I'm going to China in February for a year and my employer told me that I need to have a medical examination before I go to acquire the 'Z' visa. However, I have read that it is possible to obtain an 'L' visa (tourist) then apply for the 'Z' visa once I'm in China and have my medical examination there. This will then be followed by Residence Permit.

I was wondering whether if this is possible?

Regards

GUEST12555,

I think it's better to do as your employer says. If you come to China with a L and then apply for the Z. Perhaps, you need to leave China to apply for the Z type one. In fact, you might have two medical examinations. The first one is taken when you apply for the Z (work permit precisely). Another one is done when you change your Z to temporary resident permit after you arrive in China.

And you also might be required to provide non-criminal record when you apply for the Z visa.

GUEST12555 Thanks for the reply.

The main problem for me in getting the Z visa is the physical examination. Is it possible for me to apply for the Z visa in the UK and have the examination once I get to China? It's just because I'm being quoted a lot of money for it.

Do I just need to get the blood samples, chest x-ray and ECG?

And I have a non-criminal record document so that's a plus.

Regards
