I found this when I was reading online news and really wanted to share it with you guys.

A thief in Shanghai tried to steal an electric bike in a residential quarter but failed. The security man discovered him and intended to bring him to the office. Suddenly, the thief ran away. However, he was surrounded by the residents and the security man eventually. Probably, he knew that he couldn’t escape so that he stabbed himself with a knife and fell on the ground. When the ambulance came, he was already dead due to great loss of blood.

Well, I should say he was really brave to kill himself. He couldn’t be sentenced to death just because of stealing an electric bike. Perhaps, he was totally ignorant of laws and didn’t know that he needn’t suicide to escape from the penalty.

Perhaps, he didn't intend to kill himself. He thought that he could escape if he was injured but finally he lost his life. This guy was really brave.

Perhaps he needed to steal the bicycle to escape an even more serious crime

How sad. Obviously mentally disturbed and terrified. What a tragic, horrific way to die.

He is coward. He dares to steal other people but why does he have the courage to turn himself in? Gaffer might be right. He once comitted some serious crimes. If he was caught, he might be punished too seriously.

A coward? So he killed himself rather than be punished? Preposterous! Perhaps you should learn some compassion CHERRY07. There but for the grace of god go I.

Bobert, I have no compassion to the criminals. Stealing might be forgiven but what if he does it again and again? Will you be sympathetic with a guy who killed your families? Why do these criminals regret when they die? When they commit serious crimes, they never thought about regret.

The man tried to steal an electric bike! He did not "kill any familes." He did not commit a "serious crime". Get a grip on reality CHERRY07! You have no idea what drove him to this petty crime nor do you have any interest. You have simply judged and condemned him.

Think about it. If the guy killed himself because he was so terrified of the crowd then the chances are he was mentally unbalanced. It is something to feel compassionate about, not something to rejoice over like you seem to be doing.

Bobert, you analysed very well. However, you haven't answered my question.

If someone killed my family of course I would not be sympathetic, I would seek revenge. Unless of course if that person was insane, then I would seek protection for him and his potential victims.

Your question is hypothetical and irrelevant. The person we are talking about tried to steal an electric bike, nothing more. The only person he physically harmed was himself.
