GUESTPATELBRO In either case, this is only coming up more seriously because Indian people are mad that riotgames added a new character to league of legends called...

Wukong, the Monkey King

he has a staff
he's fast
he can make copies of himself

GUESTAM INDIAN I am thrilled and chilled to know that my favorite deity also is shared with the Chinese community and has had his impact there.
Till today, I had seen 'the forbidden kingdom' and loved Jet Lii's acting as sun wuchong, but had no idea it had anything to do with Hanuman, I just thought wow, Hanuman would have had this exact behaviour.
After much research I realized that 'Journet to the west' and 'Ramayan' have a LOT in common and I have even read in several places that SUn WUchong is Hanuman's own reincarnation .. and the Budhhist and Hindu religions both happily smile at this as the two religions share a fair amount in common.

GUESTRAM Hanuman and Sun wukong were one n the same.Hanuman was immortal. After his duties towards Lord Rama he went to the himalayas for a long meditation and after that he became more powerful and also childlike and mischevious monkey king.

GUESTQUEST He can't have a reincarnation as he's been absolved from the cycle. Sun Wukong is Hanuman. The story probably traveled from India to China as did many other things like kungfu/wushu. And along the way was embellished and morphed innumerable times. The Monkey God wasn't born out of the stone from a mountain but rather born and grew as a child on a mountain. Rama, though a king, was as divine as a sage(his divinity partly due to his karma from his past life). This was probably difficult for buddhist monks to explain to the lay people which was why he was probably introduced as a monk. Being a monk meant a life of chastity. This meant that the adventures of the Monkey God in the true story that revolved around retrieving Rama's wife Sita had to be substituted with embellishments.

GUEST12249 Religion is never necessary for living but like a plant requiring a reason to grow humanity also require a reason to live. In early age man don't any thing and slowly it learn to live as it live today so it wasn't possible without religion. Now it depends on you what and how much you give preference to religion.
