| Dear BBQQ, it happened everywhere, not only in China or Japan. Guest81560, if we except this kind of behaviour in our society, we will do nothing but watch or observe. If we care, we can report to the Social Welfare office or we join the community watch group. In my area, we give counselling to intended groups as well as talks to parents and even go to schools. | I lived in "Chinese area" where majority of them are Fujian descendants and have seen how they spent a hefty sum just for the funeral and burial where they could use the money for the living. My father died when I was nine, thus too young to think what I should do. When my mom died last year of old age, she was 95, we made the coffin on our own with simple sending off. In my community, if a deceased family can't afford a coffin for the burial, the community will assist. Wan |
