What would you have done if you saw a kid crushed twice by a car?

Bobert,

It is selfish to do nothing when seeing a child lying on the road. You are right, there is no excuse running away. But I might understand why FEIYUYITIAO chose to call 120 instead of giving a hand to the child. He must have read many bad news.

China hasn't establish any law to protect those good people. People like Feiyuyitiao are afraid of being scammed. He might not have enough money to pay if he was framed up.

Everything in China seems to revolve around ...MONEY! Children will continue to die a lonely death in China untill you do what is moraly right instead of what is financially safe.

Let me see if I have this right. People in China can justify walking past a dying child because they fear they might be scammed. A child lies bleeding and dying on the road in danger of being hit by even more trucks....and people fear it is some sort of scam. They call the emergency number but they don't move the child to a safer place or apply first aid....because "they don't have enough money to pay if he was framed up".

Next time I visit China I must remember that nobody will help me if I am in danger. Or maybe I should just stay home where people do help.

Bobert,

Next time you visit China and are in danger, I wish you could meet a person like the old lady who tried to save Xiao Yueyue.

There are still some exceptions. I really hope you meet some kind and nice people in China.

By the way, here is another piece of good news. Xiao Yueyue's father donated 60000 yuan to a young man who suffers from leukemia. A kind people donated 200000 yuan to him but he still couldn't afford to pay for the bone marrow transplantation surgery. The surgery costs around 280000.

Glad to see that Xiao Yueyue's father keeps his promise. But there are still some people who doubt that the father has disappeared with the money. Now they can remove their doubts.

Maybe it would be better for me if you could wish I didn't first have to meet the other 18 people who walked past the dying child BEFORE I meet the one old lady who finally helped. Only 1 out of 19. My odds of survival are not good.

Tell him to come to Australia. Here the surgery is free. If he happens to get struck by a car and risks dying on the road his odds of being helped are also far greater. Much better than 19 to 1 as in China.

Bobert,

I wish I could be an Australian but it will never happen.

The public has turned their attention to the money that the parents have received. Although the father has promised to donate the money to the people who are in need of, some “supervisors” are worried that the father might run away and disappear with the money. They sent txt messages to condemn Xiao Yueyue’s parents.

The father just reacted that he didn’t care how other people looked at him and would donate all the money. Yesterday, he donated 30000 yuan to a girl who had been fighting against the aplastic anemia.

Every time he donates the money, he invites the media to be his witness and supervisor. He just wants to let the public and the donators know that he donates the money to other people who are in trouble. The father just transfers or hands the money over to the people who are in need of.

You could always marry an Australian and adopt his citizenship. However that seems an extreme length to go in order to pay potential medical bills. Far better to remain Chinese and work toward a fairer welfare system.
