I was not being generous BBQQ. I was being sarcastic. I was attempting to emphasise how ridiculous it would be to send you money to express my sadness that China now worships money. Alas. I fear the irony was completely lost in translation.

I was sarcastic too. I emphasized that I could support myself. Save your money, Bobert. It is no use arguing about this again. You are not a Chinese and I am not an Australia. I respect your opinions on this. Peace!

It's not unitl we come overseas that we have the sense of a variety of Chinese among whom difference does exists coz before the way of living was not that mobile then today in China. It's not until we live overseas that we believe that Chinese have not much difference from the foreigners in good ways or bad ways.

Bobert,

Four days ago, Xiao Yueyue's parents claimed that they already decided to give up requiring compensation from the drivers after discussion. They said that no economic compensation could bring back their daughter's life. They just sued the driver and requested that he should be brought to justice.

Meanwhile, I read a post on a Chinese forum. The author emphasized that Xiao Yueyue's parents took the main responsibility for their daughter's death. They were their daughter's parents as well as her guardians. But they didn't perform their duties as their daughter's guardians. The driver who hit the girl shouldn't have taken the main responsibility. What do you think?

I think the father is a good man who made a small but extremely costly mistake. He is a good man because he donated the money to more worthy people than him. He also rightly accepts his part in the responsibility for his daughters death. He will now have to live with the consequences of not protecting his child for the rest of his life. He will never forgive himself for what he has done even though many of us have made the same mistake. His life is now destroyed.

Xiao Yueyue's parents gave a lesson to all parents in China. Do your best to take care of your kids.

Let me tell you what is confused: I give you a example, assume a puppy lie on the road and hurt, I may be rescue it without confuse just out of respect for the life. but if the if it's a person, the more I can do was calling 120 but not give a hand, Why?
I am scared away....I heared so many frames in china and my parents aloways tell me do not pick the money on the road or do not help others if you not sure it really need help or a tricky. you can easily involved in a tragedy and you will turn to be a sin.

Absolutely shameful. You would prefer to watch a child die rather than risk being scammed? It's about time you and other selfish people in China entered the 21st century instead of living in the dark ages.
