The one child policy has been practiced in China for over 30 years. How is it going? Look at this slogan and you may have a rough idea. It was found on a wall of a village.

Oh, no, no, no. Sorry, I used a wrong word. I looked up this word in a dictionary, which sasy "Sterilize--- To deprive (a person or an animal) of the ability to produce offspring, as by removing the reproductive organs." It is inappropriate to use it here.

Usually, Chinese couples are allowed to give birth to one child. But they may have the second baby if they meet some requirements. If they break the rules, they will be fined and undergo an operation called Jie Za (η»“ζ‰Ž). It means tubal ligation or ligation of the vas deferens. As a result, they can never give birth to babies.

PS: either the husband or the wife takes the operation.

Don't worry Zoey, actually sterilisation is correct, and vasectomy is one of the sterilisation processes.

There are many ways to achieve sterilization. Tubal ligation and ligation of the vas deferens are just two means.

Well, θΆ…η”Ÿ here means that some Chinese parents break 'Family Planning Program' or 'Birth Control' policy, to be accurate.

I'm saying about eunuchs because during the feudal emperors in China, they had eunuchs to serve in the harems.

It is a real thrilling slogan. I think, the promotors of 'Birth Control' policy may be astonished if they saw this.

Raindrop,

It is just a slogan. I do not believe that they can let all villagers be sterilized. In fact, only those who break the Family Planning program will be sterilized.

Maybe it is an incitement for mutual supervision among all villagers. They will probably report others so that they will not be implicated.

So, having more than one child is a gross "misconduct" that needs to face the consequence from the government?

Abortion occurs as a complication of 'Birth Control' policy.
