Wan,

Forced abortion does happen. Sometimes both the mom and her infant lose their lives. Some people suggest that China should adjust its population control policy. But they get no response from the government.

I had read a news yesterday, deputies of the people's congresses suggested to allow a family have two children by year 2015. This caused serious concern to the public as well. Most of 1970s, and 1980s said this is good news to decrease the problem of population aging, but they can not afford two children nowadays.

Sunday,

If the government can not provide better environment and conditions for its people, how dare they give birth to more children? Maybe, some people still think that China has a large population. If more children were born, China couldn't burden the population pressure.

Such problem of population aging is evident across the rich world, but China ill afford this early. As young generation has more pressure than their parents, they may give up raising more than one child even then the new policy is released.

Probably due to high cost of living, high education fees, so they ill-afford to have more than one child. There are Chinese families who have three children, yet they still can afford to send their children even for tertiary education. Some of them among the common peasants and farmers, need to "struggle" more to keep up with the demands of the society.

I can't imagine, like me with ten siblings living in China!

Wan,

My classmate in high school recently gave birth to a baby girl. She told me that her parents-in-law wanted her to give birth to another one. It would be the best if she could give birth to a baby boy.

Why? Some Chinese people believe it is the best to have a son and a daughter.
