Thanks to Taobao.com, online shopping has become most young Chinese people's favorite shopping way. They don't waste much time getting from a shopping mall or department store to another. All they need to do is to sit in front of a computer, choose their favorite stuff, pay for the bills and then wait for their packages.

It is reported that a Chinese girl sat in front of a computer from the evening to the next noontide and made more than 20 orders on Taobao.com during the Nov. 11 Shopping Carnival. She spent more than 20000 RMB just in one day. Her husband was very angry and filed a divorce to the court. She regretted very much and promised she would get rid of her habit of crazy shopping online. So her husband withdrew his case from the court.

You may not know that they just got married for a year and their total income just cover their daily expense. If I married such a woman, I would become insane.

will armchair shopping become addicted like those gambling machines among the youngsters? Some products from taobao.com are OK, but be careful with dresses, sometimes the materials are a letdown. Indeed there are comments by some buyers, but who knows, some of the comments may be sent by that said proprietor and its agents.

I am a girl but haven't been married. I admit that I like shopping very much. Who can refuse beautiful dresses and nice cosmetics? But I have my shopping plan. I don't buy very expensive clothes or cosmetics. I clearly know what I have to buy.

This girl is really crazy. How could she spend all their income to buy on Taobao.com?

Wanhu,

You seem to know much about Taobao. Yes, the comments are just for reference. You can not believe what they said.

One month ago, I bought a dress on Taobao.com. It cost me CNY 259. When I received the dress, I was a bit diappointed. The material was not as good as it described on its introduction page and the dress itself was very thin. By the way, the seller sent me a scarf as gift. I found a big hole on the scarf. One day after I received the dress, I received a text message from the seller. It said 'If I give a five-star comment, I will earn a certain amount of money as reward'.

See, she used some money to earn positive comments. Some buyers were lured and gave very nice comments. Didn't they know the money they got was paid by their own? Suppose he gave you 10 yuan, it is already included in the dress price.

I just wrote my true view. Surely, I didn't get the reward.

BBQQ, sometimes I used taobao.com as a guide to buy things at certain shops. Now I'm searching for folding security doors, some LED lights and a few other things for my house which is under renovation, then I know the price and how to negotiate. When I used taobao.com, I would buy one unit first for sample, and if I agree with the product I would order more.

Wanhu,

So you take your first buying as an experiment, right? If it is good, then you keep buying from the seller. If not, you choose another...

Anyway, online shopping is not as safe as you buy at shops. The pictures online might lead you astray.

True. Besides, its not recommended that shopping on the page link that is sent to you by massive junk e-mail marketing. Physical shopping is not bad. With the help of flyers info that sents your home frequently, it not only helps you find something that fits at lower price, but also brings the joyful social contacts. On the other hand, the effective and convenient on-line shopping can only be conducted on website of big chain stores...

There are things you mustn't buy online, such as dresses. But I still buy good and famous products such as cupping sets where most of the time we can still negotiate online with the seller(s).

True. Clothes and shoes must be tried on before buying for the sake of fit in terms of skin color, figure and height.

Hi, searching online for clothes is also a big program. Last month I bought a suit of nightclothes from Taobao. It cost me more than 4 hours to search online and read comments by other buyers. Making the final decision is not that easy before payment. I got my package few days later, but it is again not as good as what I expect. I have to send it to the supplier and ask my money back. At last, I paid the postage and waste another 4 days until they returned my money. By this, shopping online is not convenient or time-saving.

Sunday,

I am not sure if you ever heard of these people. They try on clothes in shops and then remember the size and then seek the clothes online. The same clothes are sold much cheaper online than shops.

I used to do this once. But I never do it again. The staff at the shops become clever. They will stop the customers to copy the size. This is one reason. The other reason is that someone says the clothes sold online are fake even though they look very smilar to those in shops.
