A Junior middle school student got separated with his father. He didn't have cellphone or money. Thus, he asked help from the people on the street. He asked whether he could use their cellphone to call his father. To his surprise, the four people he asked refused to lend their cellphones to him.

Without other solutions, he asked a man where the nearest police station was. Then he walked over four bus stations to reach the police station and borrowed the police' cellphone to call his father. His father finally arrived and took him back home. He told his father that he was very disappointed at those people who refused to lend him their cellphones.

I guess those people are afraid of being cheated by him. Some thieves pretend to borrow cellphones to make urgent calls and then they run away when they have the cellphone in hands.

If a stranger asks you to lend your cellphone to him, will you give your cellphone to him?

There is simple solution dear Cherry. Ask for the number and message, then I can call and deliver the message. If it is confidential message and he refuses to tell, then I will ask him politely to buy a new phone and a new SIM Card.

Wan,

I posted it because it happened in Xian, a city where I have stayed for 10 years. He is just a student who has no money. How can he buy a cellphone and a SIM card?

Honestly, I would have refused him if he borrowed my cellphone. You know, a simple trap is that he dials a number and your pre-paid money for your cellphone is gone. But I am willing to send a message to his father. It just costs me 0.1 RMB.

I don't know whom he borrowed the cellphones. But he has better chance if he borrows cellphones from middle aged or old people.

It is safer to send or call someone without him holding your cellphone. It happened in many instances when the borrower ran away with the cellphone especially the expensive one.

Wan and Cherry,

There used to be many telephone bars for those who didn't have cellphones. I don't if there are still some today since people almost get one cellphone in hands. If there is a telephone bar, you may take him there and let him call his dad. Then you pay for the bill.

BBQQ,

If I have time to look for the telephone bar, I already call his father with my cellphone.

Wan,

Telephone booth is seldom seen on the street. We used to use 201 telephone card if we want to make calls in the telephone booth. I can't find any on the street.
