We currently have two Indian Restaurants. Spices and such are available but probably your best bet is to go along to the restaurants and ask the owners where they buy their spices from. They're all very friendly and I'm sure will be willing to help. I don't know of any Asian shops although there are a few shops that sell foreign goods now.

GUEST22617 I was in Beijing for a month working on the Olympics and I fell in love with a co-worker, a Chinese woman from Qingdao. I want to return to China to see her again and do not rule out marriage if all goes well. Scouring the Internet, I've found a wealth of info on Qingdao, but not much of great utility. I'd like to contact an expat org. (or someone) that can provide me with reliable info on housing and jobs in Qingdao. Can you help? Thanks. Any ideas for an inexpensive three-week stay in Qingdao this coming October? Thanks again.

GUEST39178 Hi,
I'm currently living in Sydney Australia, and am looking to move to Qingdao in September to teach English. I have lived there before in 2005, and it truly is a beautiful city, I cant wait to return.
I want to teach kindergarten, grade 1 and/or grade 2 students, but am having trouble finding a school in Qingdao. If anyone here knows a school who is looking to hire a native english speaker, or could put me in touch with anyone who does know someone, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Katie

GUEST16188 We are currently living in Shanghai but might move to Qingdao next year. My major concern is finding a international-bilingual school for my daughters (ages 4 & 7). My husband's company does not cover the school fee so we are on a budget. Can you recommend affordable good bilingual school with school fee below 100,000 rmb a year? I've seen on the internet Qingdao Overseas Chinese School. How much is their tuition fee?

GUEST72627 You mean Qingdao Overseas Chinese School is now Qingdao Amercian International School? Their fee is beyond my budget.

GUEST56194 Hi there!
I might be moving to Qingdao in September with my wife and two kids (4+2). As I can read here there would be quite a few expats living over there, which seems great!!! We are all Czech but currently live in Sydney / Australia. Anyone from our part(s) of the world living in Qingdao??? I'd like to get in touch with you and ask for some more info and hints....

Cheers!

Peter
