Banks make business and profits but still charge their own customers. Well, Lonely, it's all about money, about Dollar and cent. They'd try t o gain profit at any angle they could find.

I used to send cash from SZ branch to GZ branch of the same bank, and the bank charged me RMB15. In Malaysia, we won't be charged.

Wan, no service is for free. I remember that my dad and I bring cash with us to pay my college tuition. If we wire money directly to my college's account, we had to pay CNY 50 as the handling fee. It was too expensive.

Maybe we can devise a way how not to use bank facilities? I still remember my grandparents kept their money under the pillow or bed, but those were the days.

It's not safe. I can't remember when I read this report. An old lady burns down more than CNY 10000 to her ancestors because she thought the money was "paper money" used to be burnt for the dead. His son was very angry but couldn't do anything.

Find a safe, put your valuables there, it's against theft and fire. As I have not many valuable, I just put my school certificates, birth certificate, car registration card, passport, and some other things I need to keep.

That's a good idea. But I still prefer to deposit my money at the bank. Though the interest is still low, I can get some money if I deposit my money for a certain period at the bank.

Time deposit? Two months ago, I began to make out a plan to save money. I studies on a internet forum. Someone suggests that people should divide their money into several portions and then save the portions one by one at the bank. Let me make it clear, you save the first portion for 3 months in April, the second portition for 3 months in May .... In this way, you earn much more interest than you just deposit all your money for 3 months.
