The fiancial cirisis gives extraordinary scenary during my travelling journey. Last Friday 5:00 pm, I shut down my working PC with a pop up message saying : You cannot quit! A Chinese IT girl of my age said to me saying; push POWER OFF directly and them go home Trick or Treat. I don't want to stop believing, so I let PC power on for next week challenge/scenaries.

I don't believe that our little MARRIE is either a sinner or a loser. It's my understanding that she is married, has a family and is trying to make the best of it in an overseas environment. Sometimes I don't understand her reasoning, but that is beside the point. The extremes of Capitalism, Socialism or Fascism can be cruel to the general populace whether for economic or political gains and generally ends in mass genocide by whatever means. I do admire both China and Russia and other nations that have suffered from the past and preset and the staunchness of their people that have endured all this B.S. for natural resources.

How can anyone admire countries that suppress their people is beyond me. Did you forget the USSR crumbled. China is now has a dual political agenda. One is Communist and the Second is Capitalism. BTW, people endure because they DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE. Those that can flee will do so in a heartbeat.

Gary, most of time i committe somthing via inertia instead of from reasoning like a taurus or elephant like the way the financial crisis goes. You seem to have benefited from this crisis making luxury travel in Shanghai, XingJiang, Beijing, ShenZhen, etc. Remag1234, could you explain us which political ideology russia is taking after it totally discarded communism in early 1990

(in response to the thread...) No, on the contrary, nothing much we can do, (budget) travel remains a distraction in these times, and we might travel more

China still has a lot to offer, from excellent quality to cheap fake products. As a visitor, I do not wish to delve in China domestic political scenario but I find it rather interesting in its traditional complimentary medicine and treatments. To save cost, travel in groups, and share hotel rooms whenever applicable. I will definitely spend my Christmas holiday in Guangzhou this year. Wan

Remag: in what way is China still pursuing a Communist agenda. The only that are communist are the names of the Party and its continued policy of through socisalism to communism....but I cannot see much socisalism, and definitely no communism. What I see is state capitalism.

Apault, if we put aside the terminology, the life quality in west euro, Aus and Canada is what we Chinese are looking forward to and also what is described by communist theory as one higer stage to ideal society.
