Yes, capitalism has failed, but so has communism and socialism. No system is infallible and no system is perfect. However, capitalism both exploits and supports human nature so it's the best of a poor lot.

I don't see any difference except that what capitalism takes for granted is what socialism critisizes and hides...That is we are in the 'food chains' in human society.

Even in an egalitarian democracy some people will always be more equal than others. That's just the way a "food chain" must work.

Yes, Bob. It's just like a pyramid that is used to describe a stable society. It works. The western democracy provides relevant equal chance to each element that compses the pyramid.

The American dream was always just that, a dream. American reality is about to begin.

Everything in this world can be shown to be cyclical. The American spirit, in many areas, is still alive and well. However, government intrusion, progressive "entitlements", and a select "gimme, gimme" segment of American society makes it look like things are moving in a bad direction. I predict this trend towards socialism will be rejected by most Americans, and a drive back towards innovation and excellence will be seen over the next 5 years. The American dream is not a static thing, and it has evolved over the past 200 years. However, as our current misguided and autocratic federal government tries to force the USA into European-style socialism, the more the people at the heart of America will rebel, rebuild, and emerge as strong as ever. The USA, despite criticisms for all quarters, is still a unique and positive force in the world. People here are waking up to the differences between governing and being governed, government management of people's lives, and genuine leadership. I see a move back to genuine leadership, once the current egalitarian elitists are voted out of office. The USA lived through Hoover, Carter, and Clinton and we can live through Obama.

SETH, Well said. People talk of socialism, changes their positions with their convenience, 60years back socialism was having different definition for them. Today they define it differently. Tomorrow they will define it differently. 60years back socialism means, No free market, no property right, No FDI, No stock market, no media, no outsiders, No democracy, etc And now today you know what the situation is? I am not talking of country specific, there are plenty of so called socialist in my own country.
