Sunrise or sunset?

GUEST19736 This thread makes me think about the American Constitutional Convention of 1787. In the hall where the delegates met, there was a painting on the wall of a sunrise, or was it a sunset? No one knew. As the debate raged on about how to forge a blue print for a new American government, Benjamin Franklin tried to calm the passions of the participants, and he commented about the picture. I cannot quote him exactly, but he said that they were there to decide whether the sun was rising or setting on America, on the experiment in self government, on government of the people by the people and for the people. At the conclusion of the convention, he finally concluded that the sun was rising.

I have always preferred sunrise to sunset. Both are beautiful, but sunrise symbolizes a beginning, a day full of possibilities; sunset symbolizes the end, for better or worse.

Now, today, I sit here in America and I have to think, is our sun still rising or is it going down? There are many people here and around the world who think it is going down and we should just accept this. I do not. While it is clear that China's sun is rising (and I am happy for her because China is a great country, and my wife and son are both Chinese), I do not see why America has to fail. Why can't both countries achieve greatness? Why can't we learn from each other and teach the world by example?

Cool. hadn't been here for a while. I got my Nikon D90 and was beginning to get familiar with it. Unfortunately, I had been busy these days and didn't have a chance to shoot pictures.

Hmmm, I need to shoot both sunrise and sunset to see where the difference is. So I can exactly know what I prefer

I am not sure if I can get up very early to snap the sunrise. And the weather itself is changeable. What if it snows or rains?

So many excuses. Anyway, I will use my camera to shoot good pictures and share with you guys.
