What kind of ceremony? Will I be charged? Haha!
In August, not only I needed to help a friend with his litigation papers, but also to assist a group of people from Tianjin. Through a small group (8 persons) but due to festive season, not easy to rent a bigger vehicle, to accommodate 10 persons (including driver and interpreter). They went back on 8.29th. Hopefully September I will have some free time to travel. I still have 29 days of annual leave.

29 days of annual leave? You know, I just have 7 days of annual leave. It's lucky that I can spend my annual leave every years. Some companies don't allow their staff to spend their annual leave even though the labor law regulates we have our annual leave.

Dear Sunnydream, I am blessed with 35 days of annual leave. When I can't spend those annual leave, the balance goes to next year. This year I have 55 days of annual leave, including the days accumulated from last year. Annual leave is eligibility and not a right thus the management has the right to accept or reject my application for leave. I may keep my annual leave for Golden Handshake.

Wan,

My annual leave is 5 days. If I don't spend it, it will expire automatically.

Wow, what a lousy deal you have, Sunnydream.
Do you know what is a Golden Handshake? It's about your annual leave that you return back, it it accumulate for 30 days then you are eligible to receive one month of your last drawn salary inclusive of all allowances. An employee is allowed to keep a maximum of 150 days or 5 months.

Wan,

The law regulates that workers have the right to enjoy their annual leave. But some companies disobey the law. Their workers never have a chance to spend their annual leave. I am lucky. I have my annual leave and usually can spend it over.

You can bring the company to Industrial Court which I think would probably be tedious. No doubt annual leave is our eligibility and not pronounced as "right", but it is our right within that stipulations, and there is no International Labour Law but each country has its own Employment or Labour Law. In China if I am not mistaken, the law stipulates, which is seniority based as follows:
Must pay during the year of entitlement otherwise the company must pay 3 times the amount of pay for the unused days.
<1 YOS = 15 days ratably reduced
1-10 YOS = 15 days
10-19 YOS = 25 days
20+ YOS = 35 days

According to related stipulation, those who work
1-10 years 5 days
10-20 years 10 days
above 20 years 15 days

Wan,

It is possible. You know, government officials have more privileges than us.
