Wan,

The traditional books will disappear soon. THe e-books will replace them. Compared with traditional books, the e-books are eco-friendly and more convenient to be read.

On the contrary, there are still book publishers around the world. Some people still prefer hard copy. Like me, most of the time I read online newspapers but people still buy newspapers at the newsstand.

Someone said "traditional printing industry will die out very soon". I believe that this day will come. I hope that it comes immediately so that trees won't be cut down to make paper. The earth will keep it greener.

They cut the trees they planted for papers and not from the primary jungle. Just like they rear chicken in order to slaughter for meat.

You are wrong. The trees they planted can not meet their needs. Japan imports a lot of disposable chopsticks from China every year. You know how many trees are cut down to make the chopsticks? 2 million per year. I should say Japanese are very clever. They just buy them from China. China has ruined its environment to make money. Very stuplid.

This has nothing to do with the topic above. But Chinese people really have to think about it. Why doesn't Japanese cut down their trees to make chopsticks?

A lot of non-governmental organisations are talking about the future of book industry and its future, including seminars and conferences by IFLA and other related bodies. Going green is promoted, and almost 25% papers are recycled, especially for production of newspapers and novels. Statistics about book printing and consumption of papers to this industry are yet to be verified. Going for e-book is not the answer as we are yet to study the impact of the radiation on readers. Sometimes people weigh to conclude which is the bigger evil, using trees to produce books or the radiation on human body? This is the price we have to pay for the so-called development.

From my observations, some countries like Thailand for example, besides having abundant of natural resources, in Lamphang they are planting bamboo trees. Most disposable chopsticks are made from bamboo, perhaps China can also (or may be already started) start to re-plant bamboo trees. I have been to Anji County to see the bamboo industry. It is one of the biggest producers of bamboo products in China.

Wan,

The books are actually poisonous. The letters or characters printed on the pages contain 'LEAD' which is also bad for human bodies.

The receipt you receive from the supermarket is also dangerous. The previous report said that it contained bisphenol A which could lead to heart attack or cancer. Horrible!

Dear Sunnydream, when you look at reports, you will be scared even to go out of your house. Even the clothes you wear, the dye may be hazardous to your skin. The make-up may have high content of plumbum (lead), etc.

You are right, Wan.

We live in the world that might have no future because people are too selfish. We will destroy our world one day.

Last night, I watched a documentary "Home" made by a French director. I was amazed by amazing landscape on the earth and was angry and sad to see how people on earth (including me) destroy our HOME.

Better be natural. Don't even wear make-up. You never know what it's made from.
