No doubt, the cosmetics contains some heavy metals like lead and mercury. That's why many doctors in China suggest pregnant women stop using cosmetics and try some natural ones. But I doubt if the naturals ones are really natural.

Dear Sunnydream, natural means not wearing any make-up -- and of course its's natural. Some naturalists say: everyone is beautiful, then why must one hide her face with lead and mercury?

Wan, I didn't make it clear. Pregnant women shouldn't use cosmetics but some natural ones made from plants are ok.

The naturalists sometimes tell lies. Make-up or cosmetics can hide a person's shortcomings and makes her look beautiful. If everyone looks beautiful in a natural way, all cosmetics makers will go bankrupt.

In order not to go bankrupt these makers will entice and persuade females to use their products, and use beauty pageants as models. My grandma only used cold powder made from rice, and so was my mom, and their skin was as smooth as ever. We are helping these cosmetic makers to survive and make tons of profit.

Ok, thank you. Your mom can do business by selling home-made powders.

in the 50s and 60s, we got the supply from China because they were cheaper than producing them locally. Mostly from Guangzhou as many Chinese from Guangzhou migrated to Malaysia. They opened up many medicine halls. Strange thing is, the Chinese herbalists and yisheng claimed they came from Guangtzhou but spoke besides Cantonese and Mandarin, Minnanhua. Later, the "cold powder tablets" were made locally.

Wan,

Thanks to a Chinese herbalist, I can survive and chat with you here. My mom told me that I suffered from cough and fever When I was 1 year old. They sent me to the hospital and the doctors did their best to help me out. My dad told me that I almost consumed all the penicillin at that hospital but was still sick.

Eventually, they took me to a Chinese herbalist. He just prescribed me six bags of Chinese herbal medicine. I recovered completely after taking his herbal medicine. You may not know that six bags of Chinese herbal medicine just cost about CNY 3.

your fever may cause by viral infection. There are new GPs that do not understand well about types of chronic disease one may have. Like me for example, I went to Shenzhen People's Hospital with chest pain and after informing the good doctor that I am allergic to aspirin he still prescribed me with aspirin. In fact I showed him of my Plavix tablets (clopidogrel) which are not easy to find in China, but he could have used the generic ones.
