Wan, Actually, I met some friends on this forum and chatted them in Skype or QQ. But we just typed words instead of talking to each other.

Next time I will talk to them instead of typing words.

Correct. When you talk, you will start to learn your listening skills. Sometimes we thought our pronunciation is correct but to others it's strange to their ears. Wan

Yes, I talked to a South Korean when I was in college. I thought I pronounced "Long" correctly. But he didn't understand what I said. From then, I seldom speak in English. I am afraid of my non-standard pronunciation.

Haha, don't let a South Korean student dictate your pronunciation. Wan

Wan, That guy pronounced English words correctly. It's my mistake. He came to study Chinese in Chengdu. I couldn't believe that he even could speak Chengdu dialect. Very fluent. He told me that he had been in Chengdu for three years. Here is another joke I found on the internet. A Xian local met a foreigner on the street. He shouted at the foreigner " *** you!" Do you know what the foreigner said? He said "Zei Ni Ma ( *** your mother)!" Zei Ni Ma is a four letter word in Xian dialect.

Haha. In my dialect we don't have four-letter word but rather words of many letters that we can make essays. Wan

Have you met a foreign guy who can speak Chinese (also dialect) very fluently? That South Korean guy really surprised me. I can't believe he speak Chengdu dialect very well.
