I also stopped at Shi Min Guang Chang, and someone picked me up with his car and we had seafood teppanyaki for lunch.

What a wonderful friend! What a wonderful life! I got off at Shi Min Guang Chang and then caught a taxi to my hotel. I didn't have a chance to taste seafood.

From Dec 18 (2012) until Jan 7 (2013) I managed to visit Xianggang, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Beijing and Guangzhou, and usual, the best food would be in Guangzhou.

Wan,

Why do you like Guangzhou food the most? Is the flavor similar to Malaysian food?

Guangzhou offers various kinds of food, east-south-west-north China food, including international cuisine and somewhat affordable. Most Malaysian Chinese are either from Fujian or Guangdong, so I guess the food in the south suits their taste buds.

Honestly, I am not used to Guangdong Cuisine. I can not eat porridge with seafood or meat. I prefer to eat rice porridge with dates, peanut and red beans.

Haha, I can cook sweet porridge on my own. Anyway, I'd try Guangdong salty porridge if I get there someday.

I have tried to cook a few dishes on my own. It's good to venture into new things.

Yes. But old habits can't be changed so easily. I do not mind trying salty porridge but please do not ask me to have it every day.
