So far I always have nice trip in China, except in June last year when I was hospitalised for a day, and I needed to fork out RMB2500. Haha

I guess that you must stay at the VIP room. How did you pay CNY 2500 for a day in the hospital? Did you do some expensive tests?

Not really, Cherry. It's a provincial people's hospital, and stayed in the observation ward with a pregnant young mother. In Malaysia usually a man and a woman's ward should be separated. Anyway I have to accept this situation. I underwent CT scan, x-ray, and 3 bottles of saline water into my body probably fue to dehydrated kidney.

Wan,

The comprehensive wards accommodate both men and women. I have been to many AAA hospitals. I have noticed that the curtain isn't equipped to separate male and female patients. The patients have no privacy. Some private hospitals do better jobs than those state owned hospitals. But I am confused why you were put in the same ward with a pregnant woman. She should go to the department of obstetrics and gynecology.

She was under observation too, I suppose. Her mom and husband were there later. She was discharged early in the next morning and a lady came asking if I need the lazy chair for RMB40 for the my visitors that I politely declined. The room has a built-in toilet. It's A&E observation ward, I think. The doctor was nice, but still gave me aspirin although I had told him I have plavix (clopidogrel).

Wan,

The lazy chair is too expensive. Last year, a relative of mine went to a hospital in Xian. I took care of her for two days. A folding bed cost CNY 15. Acceptable! However, only one person was allowed to stay wih the patient.

In fact, you can bring your own into the hospital if you like.
