Sorry, I didn't make it clear. I mean you can do that if you take care of somebody who is in hospital. It's an emergency but it's worth that you carry one if you need to stay at the hospital for one or two weeks.

That' true. Some hospitals have rules. There is only one that can stay and take care of the patient. Your chair or folding bed should be put under the bed so that enough space is left for any emergent situations.

But I still think RMB2500 one day at the observation ward at one provincial hospital is still expensive. I can understand if it is a private hospital.

Yes, RMB2500 per day is too expensive. But did you enjoy good service from them?

Good service? It's an emergency ward, what can you expect? The girl beside me was vomiting blood in a failed attempt to commit suicide, until I met a physician that recommended me to an observation ward and sharing with a pregnant young woman.

Sorry to hear your bad experience at the hospital, Wan. Did the doctor explain why you were put in the emergency ward? I guess that the hospital was short of beds at that moment.

It's an observation ward. There were other patients lying on bed along the corridors. It's a public (provincial) hospital. It seems that one pays, he gets better facility. I thought this happens only in private hospitals.

Wan,

In fact there are some people who enjoy the best medical service without paying the fees on their own. Some people refer to those retired military leaders and government officials. Ordinary people never have a chance to enter the wards offered for them. The cost is too high for ordinary people.
