In Malaysia only the Chinese spend a lot of money on burial expenses, even the mourners are being paid. When my mom died, we spent less than 1000 (one thousand) Yuan for the burial.

You really save money for your kids. If you lived in big cities, a cave for the dead costs more than 200000 and you can use it for 20 years.

The money is needed for the living and not the dead. No one knows what will happen in next 20 years.

That's why I ask my kid to cremate me and throw my ashes to the river. Then they needn't worry about where to find a new place after 20 years.

I am with Wan. My kid can use the money to bury me to do something worthier, for example, buying a car or traveling with their kids abroad.
