The bottom line is many Mainland Chinese can speak and write better English now. They can argue and communicate well in English.

Wan,

I can speak and write some English in order to communicate with you. But I can't argue in English.

I am afraid that people couldn't understand what I said. You know, my pronunciation is too bad.

Mine too, but I remind myself that I am not a native speaker of that language, nut then I will try to better my pronunciation where at least a general native speaker may understand.

Dear BBQQ, it's nothing wrong for trying and with good and constant effort, you will be surprised to see a better result. Just believe in yourself.

Thank you for your encouragement, Wan. I can write sentences to express my thought. But I am nervous if I made a speech in front of people.

Speaking in front of an audience is more than communication. It's an art for one to possess and not everyone can or has. Your nervousness sometimes is also called as stage fright. You need information and knowledge (especially new ones and up-to-date) in order to talk in front of the public. You need to make eye-contact with your audience thus you can't depend much on your text but adlib.
